- I started Shakeology (yummy meal replacements) and am looking forward to seeing the results!
- School is over! I am off for the summer, so you will probably find me at the gym almost every night!
- I am moving next weekend into my own place. After 3 years of living with others, I am ready to be on my own and enjoy my privacy!

I am spending the rest of my free time working with Wilmot Cancer Center on their Events Board. As part of being on the board you need to plan your own event. Wilmot and Bounce Aerobics are partnering up for one day to help raise money for Breast Cancer Research. I am busy trying to get this event off the ground with advertising, sponsors, raffles, volunteers, etc. The event will be on Saturday July 23rd and will contain 3 hours of work outs spread throughout the Marketplace Mall. I am very excited to be working closely with the Bounce Instructors for this event! You can find this event on Facebook at

I love my new lifestyle!

Hey there.

It's been a while since I updated my blog. In the last two weeks I have managed to lose an additional 3 pounds on weight watchers, which brings my total to 15 pounds. I am noticing a huge difference in my appearance. My stomach is flatter, my arms are getting toned, and my legs are getting stronger. I don't find myself wanting the junk food I always use to eat. I haven't had a sub in 2 weeks (for those who knowme, that is HUGE) and pizza will always be a craving but I have found new ways around it. I haven't been drinking soda, which is huge change for me. I maybe will have 1 or 2 a week which is a big change from the 1 or 2 a day. I want to start trying organic foods and trying to find other healthy alternatives to eating. I have been thinking about finding a nutritionist to help me with this change.

I am very happy I made the decision to join Bounce Aerobics. Working out has become a routine to me. I enjoy leaving work and going to work out for 2-3 hours or getting up early on a Saturday or Sunday and working out for 1-2 hours. I actually am bummed when I can't work out a day due to school or having to let my body rest. The instructors there are fantastic. They are very motivating, knowlegable and most importantly FUN!!!!!! I love how I feel after working out. The best part of all is my self esteem has improved greatly. I am no longer nervous about going somewhere I don't know people, I can finally look myself in the mirror and be happy at the person looking back.

I know that its all a matter of time, but I have a feeling my life is going to be so much better due to all of these important changes. Looking forward to what lies ahead for me.

Road Block?

So today on lunch I went to weigh in. I went into the meeting thinking that I probably lost a good 3-4 pounds due to all of the exercise I had been doing, but I was sadly mistaken. I actually gained 1.3 pounds. I was totally bummed.

I talked to my consultant after the meeting and she told me once she started working out she gained 5 pounds in muscle. Grrr! She told me I need to start adding more protein to my diet after working out. I think the other problem is that I was waiting to eat after I was working out and by the time I get home its like 8:30-9:00 and that is too late to eat a meal.

The new plan- eat small meals through out the day. Eat prior to going to work out and then eating an apple on the way home and then having protein afterwards (nuts, chicken, etc).

I really hope next week is different. I was pushing myself so hard all week for this weigh in and was not happy with the results.

My consultant wants me to really track everything I eat this week. If I don't lose again then maybe she can help figure out why.

Stay tuned....

Wednesday 3/30

Today - I was totally in the Zumba mood. So much that I took 2 hours in Zumba classes.

The first class Zumba Toning- here we did Zumba with weights and shakers. Of course I took the class with the greatest instructor ever, Maria. It was a fantastic class and I am really feeling the effects.

Then I took the regular Zumba class. We used the same music from Sunday with a couple new ones so I think I am starting to learn the steps, or maybe I am not and just think I am- either way its a great time and you do not even realize you are working out. Once that music comes on you get lost and forget about the outside world.

I never thought I would enjoy working out- Zumba and Dance are great ways to workout out and have fun while doing it. I totally recommend to anyone who is looking to change up their routine.

Tuesday 3/29

Ok...I am totally loving this working out thing. I decided to mix it up Tuesday tho...

At Bounce Aerobics with instructor Christine I did:

BOOYAH Hip Hop- here we learned a high intensity hip hop dance. I totally didn't know what I was doing but it was fun.

then

Booty Bounce- in this 30 minutes we did a high intensity work out that focused on toning the abs, legs and butt...god did I feel the affects after that class.

Monday 3/28

Yoga on lunch with Harland at Bounce Aerobics. After taking a Zumba class on Sunday this was just what I needed to stretch out and de-stress from the case of the Mondays.

Perfect workout for a Monday.

Working Out?

Ok...So I know in order to really achieve a weight loss goal you need to exercise. It is just so painful to think about. I am not athletic or graceful and me working out would just be a bad idea, so I thought. My best friend Jackie is doing a weight loss blog too. Last Friday she asked me if I wanted to start working out with her at Bounce Aerobics. I thought about it and orignally said no. She persuaded me and  I said ok I will try it once.

We went to our first class on Sunday at 10am. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Class starts and immediately we are jumping, jiving, shaking our booties and sweating like we have never sweat before. It was an hour class and I don't even know how I made it through it. Oh wait I know. MARIA, our instructor. Totally fabulous! This girl has so much energy. Once the music gets started you get in the mode and you forget you are working out. I walked out of there with so much energy. I was hooked in one session.
